Sounds a bit weird to think that is the same Cristobal Briceño who manages the Facebook page of his band Aces False. But have all the sense in the world to relate the content of this page to him. The band released Quemasucabeza hand, their second LP titled Drive, disco singles including "Mirror" and "Army" train (which premiered train in Merida). So kindly and eccentric Cristobal agreed to set aside time to talk and share about the band after their debut album and its relevant details train new album.
DTTR: Listening to "Keep the Drive" gives me the feeling of being in a western / bandits produced train in the seventies, his bass and vocals. The symbols on the letter suggests a journey, a recognition train and a kind of rite reminds me a little of scenes from "El Topo" Jodorowski. What does it mean for you to keep driving and ritual train images that seem to be present?
CB: What ritual like me you've noticed. In fact, we expect it to work as an initiation rite to disk. And although it has an occult character delivers several keys to read the rest of the songs. Prefer not sobreinterpretarla, I think the song means what it says. But to bring something new, I can say that for me to keep driving is increasingly concerned with wait patiently. Like when you go on a 200 kilometer route 500 Or as Kafka says, "All human errors train are the result train of impatience, premature interruption of an orderly process."
DTTR: In "Girl please," I suspect there is some kind of attraction / repulsion for "belonging" or "recognized" in the social environment, that "not wanting to belong to belong" and vice versa conflict generated suffered inequality for who we are are marginalized, could you please refer to this?
CB: The song is about giving to Caesar what is Caesar's. My impression train is that many of the outraged would not hesitate a second to switch roles with those against protesters. I think the resentment is a valuable emotion, can react to such abuse. But you have to review the basis on which that resentment is based. To be beneficial, I think, should be based on a genuine contempt. I'll give a couple train of examples of what I call slave unlawful or resentment, but we stray from the point of the song. Claim against FIFA and trafficking mafia, then get on the world. Disempowering and political authority is corrupt, then you vote.
CB: It's a big question and I fear some grand answer. Suffice it to say that is a collection of notes about being alive among many others written since the end of my youth. I really like you magic, you know? And I like to think these songs is like alchemy. Or at least as much alchemy as literature. So it's little I can explain train in words. The songs are as a result depending on the mix. The melody alters the meaning of a sentence, harmony accentuates a feeling that seemed train to be there ... whatever.
CB: My personal life took sudden and unexpected train twists. I had to grab the steering wheel firmly and I think I left healthy, but no longer think or feel exactly train the same things described in the disc. It is normal, I am a friend of change. As for the group, I think it has been our most exhausting work, the final leg was uphill. The strange thing is that, having struggled so much, instead of wanting train to give us a break we left yearning to come right back, and we want to start recording again. So the wear was illusory, we have not really lost energy, but just the opposite.
DTTR: I think American Youth is a great deal of nostalgia, which did not feel very present in Drive. In my opinion this new album is the same thing, keep driving and go to bury the dead, hold the vision (for the moment) on the road. What do you think of this position? What is your position?
CB: I do not know. I feel at peace with this album, but a couple of things I think has been very good, very consistent. The American Youth have many openings, many leaks, that was his nature, wild and untamed. This is much tighter, more content and obedient. That is good for his esoteric conception.
CB: I felt very proud of what we accomplished, the string arrangement that made Francisco Rojas
