Todd in the Shadows: Jealous by Nick Jonas
NO.No.no.nonononono.
Fifth. I liked Blue and Too much of Heaven quite a bit
I’m not going to defend myself or the song, but me too. I also liked Move Your Body. I was sort of into Daft Punk then too (One more time) which feels similar eta to these songs. At least it’s eta catchy and dumb and happy instead of dumb and about clubbing.
I really enjoy the song, it’s got a great beat, EDM isn’t supposed to have a lot of lyrical depth, and despite eta the simplicity there is a lot more depth to it than there seems at first glance. The comparison to Paint It Black really isn’t that far off – it’s about someone whose life is spiraling out of control, he has everything he could ever want except someone to share it with – an expensive house, an expensive car, a girlfriend who never listens to him because she’s too busy dealing with her own problems; Todd says it’s happy? It’s in a minor key, which tends to evoke a somber, negative mood, the most repeated word in the song is “blue”, a color that carries A LOT of symbolism (seriously, check out oancitizen’s review of the movie Blue, it’s amazing), and it deliberately lingers on the line “he ain’t got nobody to listen”.
I thought it was quite fun and cheesy. Not the best song ever by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought it was fun enough if you didn’t eta try to analyze it.
Same here.. Heck I actually like their other 2 songs a lot In fact I like Move your body more than Blue… Fun thing The vid of Too much of heaven I saw had their bad CGI Ninja versions in it… No seriously They had a vid with then as Ninja dancing in it ALL CGI xD
Lol eta same. I shamelessly still own this cd, which I got when it originally came out [i was 16]. I actually still really love a few of the non-single songs from it, ‘Your Clown’ in particular. I just wish it wasn’t called ‘Your Clown’ >_> lol
On a slightly related note, I stillt hink it’s a tragedy that they never used “The Edge” for any of those ‘The Edge’ Pizza Hut commercials… it was like it was made for them but they never found each other.
Sorry to double here, but something neat to listen to from Italy is the prog they put out in the early 70s. Two bands that come to mind are Il Balleto di Bronzo and Il Rovescio della Medaglia, aka RDM. The latter came out with the interesting Contaminazione, an album about the true story of a crazy man who thought he was J.S. Bach, while the former put out Ys. Anyone who enjoys The Mars Volta will likely enjoy this and even find said band got plenty of influence from Bronzo.
This is so appropriate since my boyfriend won’t quit playing this song now that my hair is blue. It’s kind of grown on me since then, & it’s nice to know what happened eta to that particular group.

I’ll be completely honest: I LOVE THIS SONG! Although, I don’t like the music video. I miss the goofy 90’s. I’ve heard Move Your
