Fortunately there is the expat life here in Laos not only from work and the experience so much more

Westerners in the East, this is what we have here in Laos and I realize now when I look back on the past three months that although I am a total stranger in this country, a very striking one, too - and other things eat all they eat and things (such as. rats and birds and geckos) for my less acceptable to eat is their everyday braai relaxing! but somewhere between all the strangeness by, we have a middle ground v himself, and yes then I can surely say, we have adapted! We change "embrace", we laugh about most things that otherwise would be little foxes, things we would complain in South Africa, but we accept it, we complain less and laugh more! and the Lao people are so friendly and happy they made the adjustment easy for us - and there are even a few places where we kindly greeted as it is of course not hard to remember us and I must admit the Lao young people at Joma coffee shop definitely has a "liking" in Jan because of course he is his charming self every time he goes coffee order and they know we are now - he does not actually more to order, they ask noual, two cappuchino large and apple pie? and if he asks for only one order and the wife? Sometimes Jan ordered a Reuben sandwich on the menu and they're v good laugh because their Leuben and try the R's after him, but they can not express a R! - Something we had to get when you order food, the order has not come at once, as the dish is finished they set arrive and you are lucky if the other dish before yours had eaten, but Jan and I have smart affected, we ordered something both like so when the first dish we eat together and when the second part we - oh one was adaptable if you only want - or should!
Since half of us are here to work, I was also just a quick "update" on the work situation, because Jan was also! The bulldozers did their work, tons of bamboo away gebulldoze! and the ground is now ready for the Eucalyptus seedlings to be planted! There are plenty of plants with strong roots in the nursery so now it's just timing, because it is very hot right now and I mean hot, and the plants will not survive if it does not rain soon after planting, so the weather forecast is closely monitored because of course the plants planted before the big rain as it the rain apparently again mud stuff is that the roads impassable, so timing is everything and we trust that all things will work out! - Of course they have not got nearly enough land for planting, v but Burapha is positive that the government still land available, so if all the hectares now planted this season, there is always hope - training in Anyway too much time and patience v - the Lao workers now need to be taught how to plant! it opsigselwers a challenge! - Lao people are not very well, and initiative are not terrible on the day yellow, I understand why Laos about 15 years behind the countries around v them and also why so many expats here! - Happy come our African and understand this culture actually very good! or no not understand, but know it! I must at least admit when I lived here, I do not know if I would have been very hard at it, it's very hot!!! A Hammock under the tree looks more like a good option, so John will have its challenges have with the planting season at hand!
Fortunately there is the expat life here in Laos not only from work and the experience so much more than a job - at the moment it feels like December holiday in SA here in Laos, which is the week before Lao New Year - Pi Mai - is the biggest festival (water festival) on the Lao calendar and lasts 3 days (supposed) - each day has its own significance, day one was the old year and then houses cleaned, as in springclean, day two is something in between old and new, and they must rest and visit each other and also visited the temple, and day three New Year - big party day! And are all watered v with water - is supposed to be clean flavored water, but now in the streets where you get them flavored water, and as I can see, it pretty partied during the three days so watergooiery later great playing - ensure I not drive with open windows across town! The Lao people wear also all these floral shirts and each stall and a shop selling v water guns at the moment - all colors and sizes - China hanging v out - there are water guns Micke
