What a privilege to the precious Word of God here in our beautiful town Tsumeb preaching. Tsumeb is associated with mineral wealth. (Previously mine, but currently only an active gds smelter), The Holy Spirit uses the preaching of Scripture to the (infinite) to unlock Word Treasures of Truth to everyone who will listen. Yes, like all nature lovers I am concerned about the extent of rhino poaching in South Africa ... But it's not just rhinos currently an endangered species. I am particularly concerned about the assessment against Bybelgetroue children of God and biblical gds truth in the church. This fierce attack comes from within as well as outside the church.
What assessment and threat are we talking about? The denial of basic biblical truths (the physical historical resurrection of Jesus, the existence of a devil, etc..), The assault on marriage and family (on matters such as living together, divorce and homosexuality are all less biblical clarity and decisively spoken), the proclamation of a people-centered prosperity gospel (the emphasis is on health, wealth and .... good sex) .... Christians who do not go with this stream will not be denounced as fundamentalist and intolerant. These falsehoods and hostility as waves tanks advanced on us. You pick it up in the English newspapers and magazines where in letters columns and articles bile vomited against Christians and the truth. On the Internet are on the most platvoerse way openly gds mocked God and His Word. Unfortunately theological faculties, pulpits and even church magazines often are used to wage war against God's people and our precious faith. * The enemies of truth is not only overt atheism, but more subtle errors such as post-modernist fallacies, some teachings in the "Emerging Church" and "Speak Life theology" of the "Word Faith Movement" .... but let me further expand on the bad news.
The good news is that this is not the first time (and last) is that the church of Jesus with the roaring lion and threats faced. The further good news is that God in His Word gives us clear instructions to not only survive, but to triumph with joy!
In Acts chapter 4 tells us how the Christian church in Jerusalem got to do with a violent attack. Remember, the church was still in its infancy. And beat Satan with full fury ... We read how two leaders, Peter and John, threatened by the Jewish Council and banned further in the name of Jesus to preach. The church is the threat could survive? What would be the believer's response in these uncertain times? Let's look at Acts 4:23-31 (read and pray this prayer)
The answer is obvious: They turned to God! Human little plans would not help here! Debates, study pieces and synods have their place, but need a supernatural intervention of God now!
The solution to the endangered Bible believing, as we came to the end of our human efforts, once again to take seriously God and specifically how to draw near to him in prayer. Back to the Source! When the dark clouds of destruction threaten this young little church, they do not much talk but start PRAY! It was not just the leaders, the whole church was involved! Verse 24 "they all prayed gds to God"

(Cf. Heb 11:6) All change as is still the Living God Almighty! In their prayer acknowledges God's power and sovereignty. If that happens, even the opposition is but the effect of God's decisions and service! (27 & 28)
~ They hold fast to God's gds Word and apply it to their situation. (25-28) The passage quoted here in their prayer Psalm 2. It contains the assurance and promise that God erase all opposition to his Kingdom! In our prayers we should remind God of His promises! (See Isaiah 62:6) We must pray the Word!
